Día de la Toma on January 2 marks the 1492 surrender of Boabdil — floral offering to the Catholic Monarchs at the Capilla Real and the Tarasca parade across the old town.

febrero

Romería de San Cecilio, Granada's patron, on the first Sunday (February 1 in 2026) — locals walk up to Sacromonte and the city hands out 3,500 kilos of salaíllas, cod and broad beans from the Vega.

Granada's World Tango Summit March 12-22 — 12th edition at Teatro Isabel La Católica and La Chumbera with classes, milongas and concerts running till dawn.

Holy Week through April 5 — the Cristo de los Gitanos descends from Sacromonte during the Maundy Wednesday madrugá between prickly-pear bonfires and saetas in the Albaicín.

Día de la Cruz on May 3 — 53 flower-decorated crosses compete in courtyards and plazas across the Albaicín and Realejo with bars, manzanilla wine and flamenco dresses till 10 pm.

junio

Corpus Christi runs through June 6 — the Tarasca mannequin, giants and cabezudos parade on Wednesday June 3, and the procession leaves the Catedral on Thursday at 10:15.

agosto

Federico García Lorca's assassination anniversary on August 18 in the Víznar-Alfacar ravine — public poetry readings in Fuente Vaqueros, the poet's birthplace.

Virgen de las Angustias procession, Granada's patron, on the last Sunday (September 27 in 2026) leaving the Basilica at 5:30 pm — the Carrera de la Virgen carpeted in petals.
