Why A Coruña in agosto

The Fiestas de María Pita fill all of August: a full month of concerts, fairs and street parties that transform the city in honor of the heroine who defended it in 1589.

The Noroeste Estrella Galicia festival packs dozens of simultaneous concerts onto Riazor beach, the San Antón castle and other stages from August 6 to 9.

The Batalla Naval, on the night of August 15, lights the sky over Riazor and Orzán with fireworks; it's the warmest month (highs of 73°F) and the busiest.
