Sant Jordi on April 23 — 500 book and rose stalls down Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla Catalunya, with 1.5 million books sold in a single day.

Sant Ponç fair on May 11 — medicinal herbs, honeys and homemade jams all along Carrer Hospital in El Raval, a tradition since the 13th century.

Primavera Sound June 4-6 at Parc del Fòrum — The Cure, Doja Cat, Gorillaz and My Bloody Valentine headline a sold-out lineup.

Festival Grec June 29 to July 31 — 50th edition with 88 theater, dance and circus shows at the Teatre Grec on Montjuïc.

Festa Major de Gràcia August 15-21 — 23 streets compete to be the most spectacular decorated street of the year.

La Mercè September 23-27 — Barcelona's biggest patron-saint festival with castells, giants, correfoc, piromusical on Maria Cristina and BAM stages.

48h Open House BCN on October 25-26 — 136 Barcelona buildings open free for guided architecture tours, 57 of them for the first time.

Fira de Santa Llúcia through December 23 — peak crowds the week before Christmas Eve at the 300 stalls below the Cathedral.
